The Dolomites, this is another world completely, where ancient myths and legends characterise the magnificent mountains formed some 40 million years ago. In amongst these mountains lies the Fassa Valley and the town of Canazei our base. The valley is rich with trails which take us into the heart of the Dolomites. As we walk, we will discover not only spectacular views, but also frequent reminders of an ancient past. It is an area for all grades of walking ranging from gentle strolls along the valley bottom to the ascent of the Marmolada glacier, although if we decide to do the latter, then it will definitely be by mountain lift!! For the time of year we go, all the lifts will be running, and with over a hundred mountain restaurants open as well, sustenance and refreshment is never far away.
