The town of Chamonix nestles in a steep sided valley at the foot of the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc. All around tower the snow capped peaks which have attracted mountaineers from all over the world. Glaciers tumble down the side of Mont Blanc and its nearby neighbouring peaks, seemingly dropping into the town centre. Everywhere you look the views are stunning and you long to be up there to experience the splendour of it all.

This is the holiday that lets you do exactly that! Our walks are planned to provide the best possible views of all this fabulous mountain scenery, but without the effort and dangers faced by the mountaineers. We will use the cable cars and chair lifts to best advantage to explore the hillsides on designated and well maintained footpaths. Our hotels, Hotel L Arve, named after the local river which flows past it, is no more than 150 yards from the town centre, a centre which contains many beautiful shops as well as a good selection of bars and cafes!!

The walks will be stunning, the evenings lively and the company friendly and informal. If you require a rest day there is much within the town to keep you amused. There is also a very impressive market on a Saturday in Chamonix so you will never be at a loss for diversion
