Andalucia - Spain
♦ traditional white villages ♦ dramatic ravines ♦ softly rounded hills
If ever a place qualified for the overused phrase Real Spain, then the Aplujarras does. Situated on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, underneath Spains highest mountains, yet only some fifty miles from the bustling Costa Tropical, La Aplujarra, Spain provides a unique blend of the old Moorish culture, typical Spanish villages.
For a real diversion however, Granada offers you everything. The magnificent Alhambra Palace, residence of the Moorish rulers of Spain, and the gardens of the Generalife, their summer palace, are quite stunning, especially at this time of the
year. In the town itself, the Albaicin, the old Moorish quarters and the Cathedral of Santa Maria de la Encarnacion are well worth a visit.
