Northern Spain

The Picos de Europa are one of our favourite areas for mountain walking in Europe. The magnificent scenery of the limestone peaks is breathtaking, even more when you compare it to the lower lying valleys, and the area offers huge potential for walking and trekking.

The National Tips Park, the first in Spain, boasts some of the greatest Mountain scenery, walking and trekking on the Iberian Peninsula. With its high, jagged limestone peaks, lush green valleys, rich wildlife and where the traditional way of life still goes on.

Our treks will follow little-known shepherd-trails in the rarely visited gorges of the eastern massif, and where we shall spend our evenings in simple pensions.

We shall see how the traditional way of life continues. The scenery will begin to develop and transform into fantastic lunar landscapes of the central range, where the impressive half-domed bulk of Naranjo de Bulnes, towers over the mountain huts where we stay.
