Kenya
Kenya, a country of scenic beauty, lies on the eastern coastline of Africa. The Great Rift Valley running north to south gives it its varied terrain of mountains, hills, ranges, escarpment and rolling plains, interspersed with rivers, lakes, streams and cascading falls. Kenya, the original destination for safari. The country has been blessed with some of the most amazing and attractive scenery. From snow capped mountains to game covered plains, with its rich tribal culture, Kenya has it all in abundance.
We shall stay in small country hotels set in a wonderful panorama which form the perfect base for anyone keen on nature and who wants to be in a quiet place away from mass tourism. Breakfast and dinner are haute cuisine provided for us in the lodges. Our lunch box shall be selected each morning by the hotel which will make our picnic lunches occasions to look forward to.
On this fabulous trip we walk in all the great places of the Rift Valley, see the flamingoes in Lake Nakuru and spend three days watching all the Big Game in the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is a place that should be visited for that once in a lifetime journey, a place where nature still rules supreme and where the wildebeest migrate, you will not fail to be enthralled by the wonder of this world.
Our visits shall include Crescent Island, a peninsula on the Eastern shaw of Lake Naivasha. There is a lot of game for us to see there, giraffes, waterbucks, elands, zebras and impalas.
Hells Gate National Park: A unique park where walking is done in the middle of wildlife, giraffes, zebras, warthogs and many types of gazelles are found here. A volcanic area with huge rock boundaries. Crater Lake. We do a walk in the sanctuary where we see the lake from various angles and pleasant interruptions from giraffes, black and white Colobus monkeys, zorillas, aardvarks, leopards and a range of gazelles, all of which are easy found in the sanctuary.
Lake Nakuru National Park: The eldest park of Kenya, known for its thousands of flamingoes and vast herds of buffalo, tens of rhinos and cats like leopard and lion. Of the big five only the elephant is missing. Lake Elementiata: A scenic beauty that cannot be matched. We shall talk with the Masai herdsmen, walking in the open savannah land. Masai Mara: The best of Kenyan wildlife, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, buffaloes, gazelles and all the wild cats are found here.
As the country is only 8.5 hours flying time from London and the difference is only two or three hours, getting there makes it a perfect destination for us.
