Walking Holidays in Hong Kong

Exploring Hong Kong`s Islands

eleven days

Hong Kong               ► City & islands experience

♦ unspoilt hill country ♦ amazing harbour scenes ♦ unchanged villages

On each of our several visits to this exotic location we have discovered the unexpected, magical treats. The Hong Kong experience is just fabulous; with the familiar landscape of sky scrapers surrounding the harbour competing for one''s attention, an awesome spectacle; a teeming metropolis; all with the attraction of stunning walking in the backdrop of the remote and unspoiled islands. The Hong Kong metropolis is full of colour: famous markets, shopping precincts, and streets upon streets decorated by illuminated Chinese signs shops filled with food from mainland China.

Beyond the city and skyscrapers lies another world of countryside and islands that have remained unchanged for centuries. These less well known islands are lush green and beautiful, each with its own character and appeal. Well wander across Lantau Island with the Golden Buddha. Lamma with its fishing villages caught in time. Kowloon - a sea of neon at night, yet affording spectacular walking. Some of the walking is renowned. The Dragon''s Back on Hong Kong Island, the Peaks walk, again on the island, and the Golden Buddha Walk on Lantau. Others are less well known but equally rewarding.

No visit could be complete without some sightseeing, and we will incorporate all the essentials into your stay, you will bargain hunt in Stanley Market, view the astonishing sights from the Peak after travelling up on its famous tramway, marvel at the beauty of the parks and take in the breathtaking panorama from the Star Ferry. The view of the harbour with its ferries, junks and floating restaurants is a must from here. This is a holiday you will really look forward to; an experience you will never forget; and far more than you may have imagined.
